Role Description The Roofing Estimator/Project Manager is a full time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON. This position is responsible for reviewing project specifications and drawings, preparing detailed roofing and cladding estimates, and developing accurate material and labor take-offs. The role includes coordinating project schedules, managing subcontractors and crews, monitoring job progress, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The Roofing

Estimator/Project Manager will liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, prepare and track change orders,



and support contract negotiations and project documentation. Daily responsibilities also involve site visits, quality checks, and ongoing communication to resolve issues and maintain high standards of workmanship and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

- Experience and skills in roofing systems, including Roofs and Waterproofing, with a strong understanding of commercial and industrial applications.
- Hands-on knowledge of Carpentry and Insulation related to roofing and cladding installations.
- Ability to work safely at height, with demonstrated competency in Working at Height best practices and compliance with safety regulations.
- Prior experience as an estimator or project manager in construction, preferably in low-slope roofing, cladding, or building envelope projects.
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with project management tools is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with crews, clients, consultants, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations; certifications related to working at heights, WHMIS, or construction safety are an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites in the Ottawa region as required.
