Application Deadline: Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 11:59 pm The Opportunity The Legislative and Court Services Department is comprised of three branches

- Legislative Services (which includes Council Secretariat, Corporate Mail and Print Services, Vital Statistics and Access and Privacy Services), Court Services (which is responsible for the administration of justice within two court service areas in compliance with the Provincial Offences Act, the Memorandum of Understanding and Inter-municipal Service Agreements) and Enforcement Services which is responsible for administering and enforcing several municipal by-laws including but not limited to regulations related to the parking of vehicles, pet controls, property maintenance, business licensing, and sign placement).

Under the general guidance and direction of the Supervisor of Enforcement Services, assists with the day-to-day coordination and operation of the Section, including coordinating the activities of enforcement and licensing staff. Ensures the timely and effective enforcement of municipal by-laws and applicable Provincial legislation, and assists with the review and recommendation of by-law and related set fine amendments and their implementation. Performs the duties of a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer I as required and assumes the responsibilities of the Supervisor during their absence.

Education (degree/diploma/certifications)

- Two (2) year College Diploma in Law Enforcement or a related discipline




- Municipal Law Enforcement Officers’
- Association of Ontario (MLEOA) Part I –
- Municipal Law Enforcement Foundations Certificate
- MLEO Certification and ongoing membership with the Municipal Law Enforcement Officers’
- Association of Ontario (MLEOA)
- Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) re: firearms and related firearms training.
- Valid Ontario Class “G”
- Driver’s Licence in good standing with a reliable vehicle for use on corporate business

Experience

- Three (3) years of experience performing duties related to the above mentioned major responsibilities, including one (1) year of leadership experience

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

- Basic computer literacy using the following systems and software: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Availability to work outside of schedule work hours to perform standby, overtime, or emergency response duties

- Driver’s Licence in good standing with a reliable vehicle for use on corporate business

Other Important Information Location: 45 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie, Ontario Hours: The normal hours of work are 35 hours per week in accordance with the Collective Agreement

Wage: This position is within the CUPE Local 2380 Bargaining Unit with the following pay level and 2026 pay range:

- Pay Level: Level 8
- Yearly Salary: $76,876.80 to $92,146.60
- Hourly Pay Rate: $42.24 to $50.63
