Junip is looking for a Staff Software Engineer who wants to help shoppers make the right purchasing decisions when shopping online.

The Junip product

We operate a review platform at significant scale (10,000 customers / merchants, tens of millions of shoppers / reviews). We also have new agentic product that is growing quickly. They both work together to help shoppers make purchasing decisions when buying from ecommerce stores.

What you'll do

- Design and implement recent features end to end, primarily using Rails and React
- Solve performance and infrastructure challenges to scale while improving speed & reliability
- Actively collaborate with CX and other team members to fold learnings back into the product experience
- Maintain integrations with Shopify and other platform partners (TikTok Shop, Meta, Google Shopping etc)

Some of the technology you'll work with

Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, RubyLLM, Vector DB(s), Redis, Sidekiq, AWS etc

Need to have

- Experience building web applications at significant scale, ideally in Ruby on Rails and/or adjacent technologies




- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, crafting maintainable code
- Comfort & eagerness to ship to production daily
- Confidence in crafting public APIs, leveraging webhooks and building scalable services (finding solutions to N 1 query problems, maintaining endpoint speed and reliability)
- Excellent written communication, able to clearly articulate complex ideas / plans
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate both your pace & quality of software development

Nice to have

- Experience building for ecommerce merchants
- Experience building agentic tools
