Safety Attendant

We are looking for an empathetic, patient and compassionate individual to provide support to our clients in a Safety Attendant role. In this role, you will assist in implementing safety protocols and procedures, ensuring adherence to regulations, whilst promoting a culture of safety and compassion with every action you undertake.

This role will provide support to facilities all over the Annapolis Valley including Kentville and Berwick.

Responsibilities:

Monitor patients who may be at risk of harming themselves or others.

Constant non-medical supervision and support.

Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.

Respond to emergency situations and request assistance when needed.

Document safety incidents and provide detailed reports to nursing staff.

Maintain a calm presence when faced with crisis. Utilize empathetic responses to reduce patient stress.

Observing patients for any signs of distress or danger.

Able to float within the patient care units by maintaining working knowledge of hospital-wide/unit policies and procedures.

Requirements:





High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid NVCI or an ability to obtain this prior to shift start.

Ability to identify escalating behavior in patients and implement de-escalation techniques.

Physical fitness to perform safety rounds and respond to emergencies

Certificate in safety management is highly desirable.

A smart phone capable of downloading our scheduling software for clock in/out times.

Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures.

Able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.

Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

Experience in a similar role or in a safety-related field.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the job.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
