Manager, Human Resources (12 month term)Full Time Term Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, CA 1 Attachments8 days ago Requisition ID: 1216$134,561.00 To $154,413.00 AnnuallyTo view a detailed Work Description of all key duties, please open the attached document.Core Job PurposeReporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Manager, Human Resources is responsible for leading a team of professionals for the day-to-day delivery of Human Resources (HR) professional services to the employees and management team of CCC. The Manager contributes strategically to the development and implementation of HR programs and practices and monitors these practices to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with corporate objectives. The Manager serves as both a people leader and a key subject matter expert.Key DutiesOperational AccountabilitiesProvides support, and guidance to CCC's management team in relation to HR practices and leadership practicesOversees the day-to-day operations of human resources areas such as, policies and procedures, data analytics, job evaluation, total rewards, payroll, talent acquisition and retention, labour relations, performance management, and learning and development (individual and corporate-wide), and ensures CCC's programs remain aligned with best practicesParticipates on Labour Management Consultation Committee (LMCC); Contributes to collective bargaining process through areas of expertise such as compensation, analytics, business practices, and stakeholder relationshipsManages and oversees the classification process to ensure consistency and integrityMonitors compensation program; ensures equity and consistency with market data; and presents analysis and recommendations for annual salary budgetingParticipates on various corporate initiatives including working groups and committees such as Pay EquityPeople & Organizational ManagementProvides mentoring, coaching,
and performance management (including training opportunities) for HR team membersDelegates work to team members based on prioritization and alignment with skills and workload and ensures work quality and completionResponsible for ensuring productive and positive culture for HR employeesServes as a point of escalation for issues within the portfolioCollaborates with director and contributes to annual and multi-year planning; identifies need for modifications and special initiatives, sets targets, and monitors outcomes; determines implicationsand options; and prepares recommendations to support strategic goalsOversees ongoing operational planning and/or projects including prioritization, resource allocation, and scheduling; seeks opportunities forimprovement in program and service delivery, efficiencies, and integration through program evaluation and researchEstablishes and oversees performance targets and service level standards to ensure alignment with organizational goals and continuous achievement.Identifies operational risks, completes program/service reviews, and develops recommendations and action plansAssesses risk related to employment practices from a variety of perspectives (i.E., legal, reputational, and business)Ensures legislation, governance structures,
policies and procedures are adhered to; contributes to development and alignment of internal policies and procedures; and ensures consistencyin practices and applicationsMaintains awareness of changing legal/regulatory requirements and best practices within the sector (especially those of the Public Service and other Crown Corporations) by creating links and fostering relationships with external associations and HR working groups and networksEnsures optimization of information systems and data management processes and outcomesEducation, Experience & Core KnowledgeCompletion of university degree in human resources, commerce, business administration, industrial relations, or a related disciplineMinimum of eight (8) years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of five (5) years of people management.Knowledge, skills, and experience in operational management of HR professionals, operational planning, and project, change, and risk managementKnowledge of issues, trends, best practices, and challenges related to HR programs and servicesKnowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal legislation and regulations including collective agreementsKnowledge of division, broader CCC, departments, and business linesKnowledge of CCC Policy Suite and related procedures and instructionsKnowledge of office productivity software and databases, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devicesPayroll knowledge is an assetWHAT CCC WILL OFFER YOU:Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)In-house learning and development opportunitiesHealth and Wellness AllowanceFree onsite fitness centerThe employee must be able to work in a hybrid setting in Ottawa, OntarioCCC promotes a workplace that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
