The role provides direct and indirect court support to clients who have experienced domestic and intimate partner violence and connection to community resources. This role ensures every victim has access to practical and professional client-centred support and a voice while navigating the domestic violence criminal court process.The Case Worker is responsible for the daily management of their assigned caseload while ensuring that Domestic Violence Justice Response (DVJR) protocols are adhered to and incorporated into file management practices.



The Case Worker ensures that victims have updates on court proceedings, and access to resources, supports, and services. This role primarily works out of the Edmonton Law Courts Building.Responsibilities:Engage with clients over the phone and/or in person at the Law Courts BuildingDevelop and monitor safety planning while assessing riskProvide education and information about the impact of family violence on individuals and childrenProvide referrals to other resources as appropriateSupport clients throughout the criminal justice process, including court updates and/or changes throughout the court process, and through court proceedings as required.Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all DVJR partnersAct as the client's voice in court conferencing and provide partners with relevant informationLiaise with the Crown Prosecutor's officeQualifications / Skills:Diploma in related human services field with 2 years of experience in working with victims of family violenceProfessionalism within all aspects of employment and able to contribute to a positive team environmentThorough understanding of victimization and the dynamics of domestic and family violenceAssessment, interpersonal, written and verbal communication,



and engagement skillsExperience working with diverse populations and ability to provide culturally relevant servicesKnowledge of community resources and experience accessing resourcesKnowledge and experience working in the Criminal Justice SystemGeneral computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, Outlook)Ability to work within confidentiality guidelinesConditions of Employment:Completion of a Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check will be required; A criminal record will not disqualify you from employment with us; we evaluate each application individuallyThis position has a start date of Monday, September 21, 2026.The hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PMThe main enCompass office is located in the Transition Place Building at 10010-105 Street, Edmonton.
