Kettle Coordinator II position is a short-term contract position.



The incumbent is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls, grocery stores and retail outlets.AccountabilitiesAttend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle CampaignProvide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onsetEnsure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completionCommunicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant CoordinatorOrient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as requiredSupervise, support and assign (as required) Kettle Volunteers throughout the CampaignParticipate in the recruitment of new volunteersVisit locations during shift changes and intermittentlyCommunicate daily with partner for effective transitionEnsure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis)Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received.Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.Working ConditionsWork environment is typically in malls/storesStanding for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weatherEducation,



Experience And QualificationsWillingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures.Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.Education, Qualifications And CertificationsSome high school coursework, completion of high school is an assetExperienceOne year of related experience or working in customer serviceMoney handling experience is an assetRelated experience is an assetSkills And CapabilitiesValid driver's license and a reliable vehicle required Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsEnthusiastic Team Player with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAble to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 – 25 lbs)Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilitiesWillingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing prioritiesAbility to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information.Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.E., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.CompensationThe target hiring range for this position is $18.25 to $22.23 with a maximum of $26.20.
