As a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll be responsible for performing inspections, preventive maintenance, major and light repairs, modifications and overhauls to vehicles and equipment. You'll have the chance to utilize your expertise by accurately diagnosing, examining, testing, repairing and rebuilding vehicles and components. With access to state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive team environment, you'll be equipped to excel in this role.Apprentices will receive specialized training and support from our Technical Trainers and Journeyperson mentors to achieve the expertise required to keep our fleet moving now and into the future with evolving fuel technologies.For more information, visit the Edmonton Trade Recruitment Page.What will you do?Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, minor and heavy duty repair and overhaul work on all components, including engines, electrical controls and systems, power train, brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions, fueling and other systemsFollow approved methods and techniques as set out in the manufacturer's manual and shop instructionsWork within the standard job times for routine workPerform basic and complex diagnosis of systems through the use of diagnostic scanning tools, computer software and traditional methodsLubricate vehicles and/or ensure lubrication is carried out as requiredPerform Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP), and required Police inspectionsComplete major repair authorization forms, provincial certifications, PM inspection sheets, and other required documentationContribute to ongoing workflow processes by entering data and information into a computerized fleet management system to record job times, work performed and maintenance historyAssist in the training of apprentices and junior staffAdhere to established Safe Work Practices, Standard Operating Procedures,
