and mentorshipOversee and review work completed by ACL staff and subcontractors; report concerns to the Site SuperintendentAct as secondary site contact when the Superintendent is unavailable or offsiteEnforce ACL safety standards and OHS regulations; ensure safe work practices are followed at all timesAssist with daily safety reports, toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and site recordsConduct orientations for new ACL staff and subcontractors as per ACL's Safety ProgramMonitor equipment for safety and maintenance concerns; stop unsafe use immediatelyTrain and mentor crew members in carpentry skills and safe work practicesIdentify deficiencies and lead corrective work; ensure daily goals align with the overall project scheduleAssist in tracking crew hours and coordinating material needs with the SuperintendentSkills & Experience RequiredJourneyman Carpenter Certificate (or equivalent experience in a lead/supervisory carpentry role)Ability to read and interpret blueprints; familiarity with Alberta Building Code requirementsExperience with wood framing, interior and exterior finishing, concrete formwork, rebar, thermal and moisture systems, and related scopesDemonstrated leadership ability — you can direct a crew, mentor others, and hold the line on quality and safetyStrong communication skills with supervisors, trades, and site staffValid driver's license (driver's abstract may be required)Familiarity with temporary site setup, site security, and equipment operationProject TypesYou'll be working on commercial and multi-family projects across the Grande Prairie region — including projects like recreation centres, municipal facilities, mixed-use developments, and more.
