The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) team in Waterloo supports Clients with waste, air, and noise, and occupational hygiene regulatory matters. and other atmospheric dispersion modelsCoordinate and implement field work to conduct air and noise emission source inventories and noise measurementsConduct noise modeling using Cadna A and STAMSON softwarePreparation of Acoustic Assessment Reports and Acoustic AuditsAssist with the design of emission controlsAssist with the design of noise abatement such as silencers, barriers and wall treatmentEstimation of GHG emissions and/or verification of greenhouse gas reportsGreenhouse has verifications for regulatory and voluntary programsSupport GHD's Advisory group with carbon reduction and climate change management plansAid senior staff in technical researchWork with GHD's corporate Air & Noise Group, consisting of over 80 engineers and scientists across North America.Support GHD's Occupational Hygienists and assist with field surveys for a variety of air contaminants, noise, indoor air quality assessments, and designated substance assessments including abatement oversightPrepare reports for the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) and Ontario Toxic Reduction Act (TRA)This position will require significant field work and travel, which includes working extended hours.What You Will Bring To The TeamRecent or upcoming graduate from a Bachelor or Masters Degree program of Engineering in Chemical, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering programsPrevious co-op experience or relevant work experience preferred, however,



not a firm requirementAbility to prepare proposals in plain language addressing client requirementsAttention to detail along with strong organizational skillsAbility to complete work under tight deadlines when requiredWorks well independently as well as a part of a teamExperience and understanding of any of the following regulations and associated guidance documents would be an asset: Ontario Regulation 419 Air Quality, Ontario Regulation 347 Waste Management, Greenhouse Gas Reporting Programs (provincial and federal); Transportation of Dangerous GoodsWillingness to travel/work on-site as a member of a team or independently completing field work in support of GHD's Environmental Compliance businessWillingness to work long hours, including weekends and holidaysTravel more than 75% of the time.No aversion to heights along with the ability to work in high noise areasWritten and verbal communication skills are essential to this position. The posted salary represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations.
