This position is indirectly responsible for residents at meal times, to assist in the implementation and instruction of those residents participating in an apprenticeship cook program. As part of the Corrections Division, the incumbent will ensure the ingoing provision and enforcement of policy and services within the Corrections Mission, Vision and Value statement.Critical Knowledge,



Skills and Abilities.Proven ability to plan and prepare meals for large numbers of peopleKnowledge of food service procedures and practices and applicable health, safety (WHMIS), and sanitation standardsProven ability to adapt and be versatile in a rapidly changing environmentAbility to work in a diverse environmentTypically attained byCompletion of a Red Seal Trades Certificate (3 year program) or 3 years general food service experience in a camp or institutional setting. First Aid/CPR and a valid class 4 driver¿s license.Equivalencies may includeCompletion of first year apprenticeship and 2 years general food service experience in a camp or institutional setting.
