Green Umbrella Senior Care is hiring caring and reliable Health Care Aides to provide in‐home support to seniors and vulnerable adults in the community.As a HCA / PSW – Nursing Care, you will work one‐on‐one with seniors in their homes helping to promote independence and allowing them the choice to live life on their terms.Permanent, full‐time, $27.50 per hour, 30‐40 hours per week. Shifts could be scheduled anytime between 7:30 AM and 12 AM, including weekends. You will be expected to travel to various work locations in Coquitlam and greater Vancouver.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAnswer call signalsSupply and empty bed pansBathe, dress and groom patientsServe meal trays, feed or assist in feeding of patients and assist patients with menu selectionWeigh, lift, turn, and position patientsShave patients prior to operationsAssist clients with mobility, transfers, fall prevention, and use of mobility aidsAssist with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeepingProvide personal care including bathing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene supportSupport individuals with dementia or cognitive challenges when requiredMonitor client safety during day, evening, or overnight shiftsSupervise patients' exercise routines, set up and provide leisure activities for patients,



accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfortTake patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse; report or record fluid intake and output; observe or monitor patients' status and document patient care on chartsCollect specimens such as urine, faeces or sputumAdminister suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas and perform other procedures as directed by nursing and hospital staffAdminister, in emergency situations, first aid to injured or ill individuals within the scope of competenciesTransport patients by wheelchair or stretcher for treatment or surgeryCarry messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departmentsMake beds and maintain patients' roomsMaintain inventory of suppliesProvide companionship and careRequirementsHealth Care Aide Certificate/HCA Certificate OR 1+ year of home care experience is requiredEquivalent Foreign LPN/RN designation may be consideredPrevious experience supporting seniors or individuals with mobility or cognitive challenges is an assetAbility to work independently and respond to emergencies within scope of trainingValid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle is an assetEnglish language ability is requiredPlease confirm in your resume that you are legally authorized to work in Canada (i.E., either a permanent resident, a citizen of Canada or a refugee claimant with a valid work permit).
