Reporting to the Superintendent, the Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation and control systems used in oil and gas production facilities. This includes systems associated with pressure, temperature, flow, level, and control automation to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable operations.Some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Instrumentation Tech include, but are not limited to:Install, calibrate, and maintain process instrumentation including:Pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmittersControl valves, regulators, and actuatorsGas detection and safety systemsPerform troubleshooting and diagnostics on:Instrumentation failuresControl loops and automation systemsCommunication systems (SCADA, telemetry,



PLCs)Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on field equipment to ensure reliability and complianceSupport and maintain:SCADA systems and remote monitoring equipmentPLCs and RTUs (setup, programming assistance, testing)Assist with commissioning and start-up of new facilities, equipment, and upgradesRead and interpret:P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)Electrical schematics and loop drawingsEnsure all instrumentation work complies with:Company safety standardsRegulatory requirementsIndustry best practicesCoordinate with operations, electricians, and production teams to minimize downtimeMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibrations, and repairsCandidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:Journeyman Instrumentation Technician (or equivalent certification/training)Experience in oil and gas production or industrial facilities preferredStrong understanding of:Process control systemsMeasurement devices and calibration proceduresPneumatic and electronic control systemsFamiliarity with SCADA, PLC systems, and field communications is an assetStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently in the field with minimal supervisionSolid mechanical aptitude and attention to detailGood communication skills for coordination with operations teamsStrong safety mindset and adherence to proceduresField-based position in oil and gas facilitiesExposure to outdoor environments and varying weather conditionsrequires:On-call availabilityTravel between sitesWorking at heights or in confined spacesSaturn's people drive our success.
