This role is responsible for maintaining accounting records for corporate entities and collaborating with the corporate accounting team to produce consolidated reporting. The Corporate Accountant works closely with senior accountants and accounting managers on accounting matters, audit support, and process improvements.This role is well suited for a CPA candidate or recently designated CPA looking to deepen their experience in a multi-entity, real estate-focused organization.Salary RangeThe annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role. We also provide generous learning and development support, comprehensive group health benefits, vacation, maternity leave top‐up, RRSP matching, paid time for volunteering, and more.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting and ClosePrepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for corporate entitiesPerform month‐end, quarter‐end,



and year‐end close as well as consolidation activities in accordance with established timelinesPrepare balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, intercompany, and other key accountsMaintain the integrity of the general ledger, subledgers, and supporting schedulesAssist with the preparation of management reports and financial statement packagesAudit and ComplianceAssist with the annual audit and interim reviews including the preparation of audit working papersAssist with GST filingsEnsure compliance with ASPE and internal accounting policiesAnalysis and Stakeholder SupportAnalyze general ledger activity and investigate variances or unusual trendsRoutine reviews of trial balances and other financial informationCollaborate with other finance functions, operations, and internal stakeholdersSupport the corporate budgeting and reforecasting processesReview and approval of invoices related to assigned entities and business unitsMaintain supporting schedules for key reporting metricsProcess ImprovementAssist in opportunities to improve accounting processes, documentation, and controlsAssist with system enhancements, reporting improvements, and workflow efficienciesWe provide the freedom and support for you to take your career to the next level so that you can put your best work forward.QualificationsEducation and CredentialsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related disciplineActive CPA candidate or recently designated CPA or equivalent experience is an assetExperience2 to 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi‐entity or real estate environmentExposure to month‐end close, account reconciliations, and financial reportingExperience with real estate accounting software (e.G., Yardi) is an assetTechnical and Skilled SkillsStrong understanding of accounting principles under ASPEStrong fundamentals with Microsoft Excel skillsHigh attention to detail and strong analytical capabilitiesAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesClear written and verbal communication skillsProfessional judgment, integrity, and respect for confidentiality
