In this role you will support all Canada Operations and Business Enablement teams with the ideation, development, implementation, and maintenance of analytics solutions ranging from descriptive and diagnostic to predictive.The Senior Analyst, Data & Analytics is a data subject matter expert enhancing decision making, monitoring business performance, providing actionable insight, and driving operational efficiencies using advanced analytics and statistical techniques.In this role, you will model, analyze, and predict complex business processes. You will translate business requirements into data, reporting, and analytics projects, which you will oversee and support throughout their entire lifecycle.What You Will DoTranslate business needs into data requirements; collect, integrate, clean, model, and analyze large datasets; and visualize and present insights to business leadersBuild, implement and maintain data models, custom reports, and dashboardsUse Azure Databricks and advanced SQL to transform and model data, and Power BI to deliver governed, insight‐driven reporting and analytics solutionsWork with large datasets that are not consistent, clean, or fully modelledApply strong communication, influence, and strategic thinking to shape analytics solutions and drive business decisionsDefine, implement, and monitor metrics and KPIs and ensure ongoing strategic alignment with short and long-term business objectivesEnable effective, efficient working relationships with business partnersWork closely with senior leaders to understand business drivers and enable them to make decisions based on dataOversee and support projects throughout the entire analytics lifecycleAssist the business in the ideation of new analytics initiatives ranging from descriptive, diagnostic, predictive to prescriptivePresent and communicate insights and recommendations in a visual and simplified mannerRetrieve, integrate, and transform data from multiple systems using SQL, Python,



and other scripting languagesWhat You Will Bring3-5 years of relevant experience and a master's degree in related field of study, or an equivalent combination of bachelor's degree and extensive related experienceStrong experience in working with data analytics tools (SQL, Python), Databases (SQL Server), Cloud (Azure, Databricks), data visualization tools (Power BI) with demonstrated experience at creating interactive dashboardsAbility to write complex and efficient SQL and Python queries to extract, integrate and transform data from multiple sources and automate data pipelinesAdvanced skills in Power BI, Data Modeling, Power Query, and DAXMicrosoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL‐300) certification preferredStrong experience working with raw data and manipulating large datasetsSubject matter expertise in data analytics and statistical modellingPolished communication and presentation skills to audiences including senior leadershipStrong analytical skills for problem solving and to monetize value for the organizationAbility to work with little to no documentation or instructionThink outside the box and identify solutions to overcome obstaclesProven ability to learn and handle multiple priorities in a challenging work environmentExperience within the Financial Services sector would be an assetReliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.The base salary for this position is between $80,400 - $130,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.E. annual bonus, commission etc).
