As a leading provider of high-quality drywall materials and supplies, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, strong relationships, and a commitment to safety.We are seeking an Accountant to join a growing group of businesses and become an important role in supporting the financial operations behind them.This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys more than working through the same accounting cycle every month. In addition to managing day-to-day accounting for Encore, you'll have the opportunity to work across other entities and investments, gaining exposure to different aspects of the business.Your responsibilities will span day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, filings, financial reporting, and year-end preparation, along with a variety of work supporting the broader group.We're looking for someone who is curious, capable and detail-oriented, with a robust foundation in accounting and an interest in understanding the business behind the numbers.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial recordsPrepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and month-end adjustmentsAssist with month-end and year-end close, financial statements and supporting schedulesPrepare GST/HST and other routine government filingsSupport payroll accounting and related reconciliationsMaintain accounting records across multiple entities,



including intercompany transactions and reconciliationsAssist with year-end, tax and other financial requirements in coordination with external accountants and advisorsProvide accounting support as new businesses are acquired and integrated into the groupInvestigate discrepancies and support improvements to accounting processes, reporting and controlsProvide financial information and analysis to management as neededTake on a variety of accounting and business-related projects as the organization evolvesOther duties as assignedQualificationsPost-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of the full accounting cycle and month-end closeExperience preparing reconciliations, accruals, and financial reportsKnowledge of GST/HST filings and regulatory compliance requirementsProficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systemsActive pursuit of CPA is an assetStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of responsibilitiesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageOpportunities for professional development and career advancementMeaningful work with a visible impactA supportive and collaborative team environmentWe are an equal opportunity employer and committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.Location: Concord, ONSalary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, based on experience
