The successful candidate will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RPNs, and the broader perioperative team to support safe and efficient surgical procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide safe and compassionate nursing care to surgical patients.Perform circulating and/or scrub duties based on experience and competency.Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.Support patient positioning, surgical preparation, and transfers.Maintain aseptic technique and infection prevention standards.Prepare and handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.Complete surgical counts and perioperative documentation.Monitor patient status and communicate changes promptly.Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice.Support surgical safety, patient identification,



and site verification processes.Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RPNs, and the multidisciplinary team.Participate in quality improvement, education, and career development.RN with current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of OntarioOperating Room certification from an accredited college program– Certificate requiredCurrent BCLS certification is requiredProven focus to provide excellent patient care, in a supportive and culturally sensitive mannerExperience collaborating with interdisciplinary team of care providers, with emphasis on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient healthQualifications2-4 years' recent experience in an acute care setting in the Surgical Suite / Ambulatory environment that includes and not limited to assisting, scrubbing /circulating and /or /providing retraction / abdominal thrust for procedures of the operating room, and ambulatory services, as well as services of endoscopy, urology and minor surgery – requiredAbility to work independently within the Surgical /Ambulatory services environment to maintain patient flowDemonstrated knowledge of surgical / ambulatory procedures (including set up)
