Due to immediate staffing requirements, we are seeking experienced professionals with hands-on phlebotomy experience who can become productive quickly following training on the client's internal processes.We are recruiting for 6 immediate openings across multiple Winnipeg locations, including:River East / Northeast WinnipegCrossroads / Regent areaSeasons / Southwest WinnipegVarious Winnipeg laboratory and health service centre locationsAvailable SchedulesFull-time: Monday to Friday, various hours, up to 37.5 hours per weekPart-time afternoons: Monday to Friday, approximately 20–22.5 hours per weekSaturday mornings: Approximately 7:15/7:30 AM to 12:15/12:30 PMContract opportunities: Approximately 11–14 monthsAdditional schedules may become available based on operational requirementsWhere operationally possible, the client intends to keep employees assigned to the same location rather than regularly moving them between locations.ResponsibilitiesDepending on the location and assignment, responsibilities may include:Performing venous and capillary blood collectionProviding skilled and compassionate patient service throughout the collection processReviewing laboratory requisitions for completeness and accuracyPerforming routine specimen collection proceduresPreparing,



handling and processing specimens according to established proceduresFollowing appropriate procedures for handling potentially infectious materialsMaintaining accurate patient and laboratory recordsSupporting patient flow within the laboratory or health service centreCommunicating professionally with patients, healthcare professionals and onsite managementFollowing established quality, privacy, infection-control and safety proceduresPerforming other related laboratory and patient-service duties as requiredRequired QualificationsCandidates must meet the client's qualification and experience requirements.Applicants must have at least one of the following:A recognized Phlebotomist CertificateGraduation from a certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) programIf foreign-trained, relevant experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA)Additional RequirementsMinimum 2 years of direct, hands‐on relevant experienceMust be qualified to perform phlebotomy in ManitobaDirect blood collection / phlebotomy experience is requiredForeign-trained candidates must have recent relevant MLT/MLA experience, with their last applicable experience within the past 3 monthsStrong patient/customer service and communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and as part of a fast‐paced healthcare teamStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesFamiliarity with medical terminology,
