The HR Generalist supports the achievement of business objectives through HR programs including, but not limited to, recruitment and selection, onboarding, training and development, compensation and benefits, disability management, workforce analytics and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS). This role supports the organization's commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy and compliant workplace through the administration of safety programs, incident management processes, regulatory compliance and employee wellness initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day HR guidance, interfacing with managers and employees to answer routine/common queries while understanding and utilizing existing HR policies, procedures and HR best practices to provide sound adviceSupport the recruitment lifecycle – create job postings, screen resumes, pre-screen candidates, schedule interviews and coordinate reference checksComplete all respective documentation and administration related to talent acquisition, offers of employment, compensation, benefits, employee changes, terminations and other aspects of HRSupport HR-related training sessions including new hire orientation and various HR programs and processesUpdate SharePoint to ensure HR content and documents are posted and active on the internal webpageAnalyze HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities, recommend data-driven solutions and generate reports to support various stakeholdersSupport the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) programs, policies, procedures and initiatives in accordance with applicable legislation and organizational requirementsProvide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding OHS responsibilities, workplace safety practices, incident reporting,



hazard identification and corrective actionsCoordinate and maintain OHS documentation, records, training completion, inspections, incident investigations and regulatory reporting requirementsAssist in the investigation of workplace incidents, injuries, near misses and safety concerns, ensuring appropriate documentation, root cause analysis and corrective action follow-upMonitor legislative changes and emerging best practices related to workplace health and safety and make recommendations to ensure organizational complianceParticipate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) activities, including meeting coordination, documentation and follow-up on action itemsCoordinate mandatory safety training, employee certifications and compliance tracking to ensure organizational adherence to legislative and operational requirementsAnalyze workplace safety trends, incident data and absenteeism metrics to identify opportunities for risk reduction and continuous improvementOther duties and projects as assignedKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMaintain integrity, discretion, judgement, tact and diplomacy when dealing with confidential and sensitive mattersAdhere to ethical standards for HR professionals by modelling appropriate behaviourAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced setting with frequent changes and tight timeline demands with multiple stakeholdersRespond to inquiries and concerns from employees at all levels of the organization with comfort, respect and empathyStrong customer focus with ability to support/influence in a multi-site environmentExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)
