In this role they provide guidance and support to leaders and employees in identifying hazards, assessing risks, implementing effective controls, and maintaining compliance with applicable legislation, standards, and corporate requirements. This position is based at our Leduc manufacturing facilities and follows a night shift schedule.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesWork in consultation and establish regular communication with HSE Manager to promote safe work behaviors by assisting in reviewing, revising, and implementing policies, procedures, and practices that are in line with company objectives and legislation requirementsProvide necessary training, leadership, organization, and communication to meet the company's safety objectives and goalsRecommend appropriate procedures, tools and equipment for safe work performance and legislative compliance with relevant OHS acts, regulations, and codes when requiredConduct incident investigations as required and participate in incident and investigation reporting to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actionsProvide HSE coaching and mentoring for the site personnel and leadershipPromote company health & safety programs that add value to employees and support overall business goalsConduct orientations and prepare training materials for recent employees, existing staff,



and contractors as part of their initial on-boarding and refresher trainingAudit and evaluate all safety documentation within assigned areas to ensure complianceComplete and maintain the necessary documentation for injury management and WCB claims for work-related accidents and injuries as required by the company and provincial legislationConduct facility and field inspections to ensure compliance with OHS & company standardsFacilitate company safety and committee meetings as well as maintain recorded minutesAssist in the development of risk reviews, hazard assessments, safe work procedures, rescue plans, job safety analysis, emergency response drills, and field level hazard assessmentsFollow up on and track corrective actions stemming from incident investigations, safety meetings, inspections, and observation/hazard reportsProvide support and implement employee competency/training programs for assigned areasEncourage safe work practices and compliance with procedures, while providing guidance/support when required; maintain a positive health & safety culture in line with the company's valuesCommunicate and submit required daily, weekly, and monthly safety information/feedback to the HSE Manager as requiredUpdate and maintain all required safety documentation and forms for assigned locations such as training records, incident & investigation reports, equipment & facility inspections, Field Level Hazard Assessment etc.Other duties as assignedSkills/KnowledgeProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteExceptional problem solving & analytical skillsExcellent communication and client service skillsAbility to lead, motivate,
