Company DescriptionTMC The Metrology Company Inc. is a growing metrology company providing advanced dimensional measurement, calibration, inspection, 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and precision measurement solutions to manufacturers across Canada and the United States.Our team works with leading measurement technologies including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), portable measuring arms, optical 3D scanners, laser trackers, and LiDAR systems.We support customers across aerospace, automotive, advanced manufacturing, energy, heavy industry, and other industries where measurement accuracy and reliability are critical.Role DescriptionTMC is seeking an experienced CMM Service & Calibration Technician to join our technical team.This is a full time, field-based position for an experienced CMM technician who can independently calibrate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and service Coordinate Measuring Machines.The successful candidate will perform CMM calibrations and performance verification in accordance with ISO 10360, troubleshoot mechanical and measurement-related issues, perform preventative maintenance and adjustments, and help customers maintain the accuracy and reliability of their CMM equipment.This is NOT primarily a CMM operator or inspection programming position. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience working with CMM machine performance, calibration, service, and troubleshooting.The position involves regular travel to customer facilities, primarily throughout Canada, with potential travel to the United States.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform CMM calibration, verification, and performance testingDiagnose and troubleshoot CMM accuracy, repeatability, probing, mechanical, and system-related issuesPerform preventative maintenance, adjustments, and service on CMM equipmentEvaluate machine geometry and measurement performanceIdentify sources of measurement error and recommend corrective actionsWork with CMM probing systems, controllers, scales,



and related hardwareUse appropriate calibration artifacts and measurement equipment to verify CMM performanceComplete calibration certificates, technical documentation, and service reportsProgram and operate CMMsProvide technical support and recommendations to customersMaintain calibration equipment and ensure proper handling of precision measurement standardsWork independently at customer facilities while maintaining TMC's quality and safety standardsQualificationsDemonstrated hands‐on experience calibrating and servicing Coordinate Measuring MachinesPractical knowledge of ISO 10360 and CMM performance verificationStrong CMM diagnostic and troubleshooting abilitiesStrong understanding of dimensional metrology and measurement uncertainty/error sourcesAbility to diagnose mechanical, probing, accuracy, and repeatability issuesAbility to read technical drawings and understand GD&TStrong technical documentation and customer communication skillsAbility to work independently in the fieldValid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularlyExperience servicing Hexagon, DEA, Brown & Sharpe, Mitutoyo, ZEISS, Wenzel, or similar CMM systemsExperience with Renishaw probing systems and controllersExperience using laser interferometers, step gauges, ball bars, calibrated spheres, or other CMM calibration equipmentExperience performing CMM adjustments, compensation, or geometry correctionMechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting experienceExperience working within an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceFull-time employment with a growing metrology companyOpportunity to take a senior technical or management role within our operationsExposure to a broad range of CMMs and advanced metrology technologiesOpportunities for continued technical development and trainingTravel throughout Canada and the United StatesOpportunity to grow with TMC as we expand our calibration and metrology services across North America
