Job DescriptionThe OpportunityAre you passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences for seniors? As a Food Service Manager at Chartwell, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver high-quality meals and outstanding service. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing food services operations, menu planning, team management, and compliance with food safety standards—all to ensure our residents enjoy every meal in a warm and welcoming environment.What You'll DoLead the planning and execution of daily and special event menus that meet individual dietary needsFoster strong relationships with residents and families to enhance satisfaction and resolve concernsSupervise and develop food services staff, including hiring, training, and performance managementPrepare and manage departmental budgets, optimize purchasing, and monitor food and labour costsEnsure compliance with Chartwell's policies and relevant provincial and health regulationsCollaborate with suppliers and corporate partners to maintain high standards of food serviceServe as a key member of the management team, contributing to strategic decisions and operational successRotate as the Manager on Duty for weekend coverage as neededWhat You'll BringMinimum two years of supervisory experience in food service (retirement, LTC, healthcare, or hospitality)At least one year of front-of-house and customer service experiencePost-secondary diploma in Food & Beverage Management or equivalent; chef qualifications andFood Service Supervisor certification preferredCSNM (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management) degree prefferedStrong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skillsHighly organized with strong time management abilitiesExperience with budgeting, purchasing, and schedulingComputer literate, including Microsoft Word and ExcelKnowledge of food safety regulations, special diets,
