Located in the heart of Thunder Bay, our malting facility utilizes various industrial equipment in conjunction with our highly skilled employees to ensure quality malt is produced and delivered to our customers locally and worldwide. The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the maintenance of specialized and unique equipment that allows a trades person the ability to gain knowledge and insight of many aspects of the trade. We offer a 4-10hour day shift and a one weekon call every 5-6 weeks working schedule that allows a great work-life balance.RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will be required to perform a various number of duties including but not limited to the following:Safely maintain equipment,



perform repairs and preventative maintenance in a fast-paced environmentTroubleshoot and repair plant equipmentSafely complete assigned preventative maintenance tasksPerform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety proceduresEnsure all work complies with Ontario Electrical Safety codeRecommend improvements to equipment and processesShow patience and leadership while mentoring apprenticesAssist employees and contractors in lockout proceduresFabricate necessary supports and brackets.Install and maintain all plant lightingUse and maintain PLC and SCADA programsInterpret electrical blueprints and schematicsPlan, design and install updated electrical/ PLC infrastructureInstall or replace electrical field devices (i.E., Motors, sensors, controllers, PLC cards, cables, circuit breakers, fuses, actuators, variable frequency drives etc.)Install all necessary infrastructure to integrate new field devices into existing plant electrical systemMaintain necessary housekeeping tasks.Work in a team-oriented, unionized environmentEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEMust have Trade Ticket 442A or 309A (Red Seal) Industrial Electrician or Construction Maintenance ElectricianProven experience as an industrial or maintenance electricianExperience working in a safety sensitive positionPLC and instrumentation experience would be an assetExcellent communication skillsMotivated to achieve high-quality standards of workingPositive attitude and self-starterTeam player and willingness to help others outIn valuable standing with Skilled Trades OntarioWORK ENVIRONMENTVast array of large and small industrial equipmentVariety of working conditions including working outside occasionallyWorking around automated equipmentSafety training provided upon hiring.PPE required in all work environments.COMPENSATION$44.99We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace.
