And above all —We are One Omicron.Omicron is hiring a Construction Safety Officer to support our expanding portfolio of a multi-family rental of 110 units and strengthen our integrated design-build delivery model. As our pipeline grows, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering smarter, more coordinated project outcomes informed by collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.You'll join the Traverse Project reporting to the Senior Superintendent, working closely with construction teams and the Safety Advisor. This role will be a fixed term contract for the duration of the project, which is estimated to take two years from November 2026 until completion. The team is known for problem solving, team, strong trade coordination, field-driven construction management, being proactive rather than reactive, and you'll contribute to work that accelerates decision‐making, deepens alignment across disciplines, and elevates project quality from concept to completion.What You'll DoSafety ManagementSupport a positive culture of safety on site where all workers share in the importance of safetyDevelop and implement safety programs by inspecting or reviewing areas, equipment, processes, and work activities for hazardous conditions in electrical utility areasAssist with the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures, as part of the Omicron Health and Safety ManualProvide guidance to field team members via safety briefingsAssist with development and delivery of occupational safety training for various workgroups, including evaluation and modification of programs to meet local, provincial,



and federal OHSA requirementsProvide direction and/or guidance to less experienced occupational safety personnelProvide training to managers and others on occupational safety issuesAct as member of Omicron's Health & Safety committee by providing safety advice and executing initiatives arising from committee meetingsSafety AdministrationAdminister the Omicron Health & Safety program and policies and procedures on siteAssist the Site Superintendent with housekeeping and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly job siteConduct and document Incident/Accident First Aid ReportsResponsible to complete twice daily workplace inspections for the purpose of identifying hazards and identifying and correcting unsafe work practices and conditions and submitting inspection reports to the Superintendent of the site. These conditions are to be brought to the attention of workers who may be exposed to them and where practicable the hazards are eliminated. Take immediate action to correct sub-standard safety conditions.Coordinate and facilitate regularly occurring safety meetingsAssist with WorkSafeBC processing and claims managementProvide orientation to workers on site prior to start of work and to all site visitorsEnsure that all near misses, property damage incidents or injuries are reportedResponsible to develop and communicate an appropriate emergency plan on the job site in conjunction with the Safety Program ManagerCreate and maintain records of all treatment administeredMaintain reasonable access to a first aid kit and first aid room when first aid room is requiredWHMIS 2015-controlled materials are identified and labeledSafety Data Sheets (SDS) are collected from contractors and subcontractors and kept available on siteAssist additional labour forces to complete miscellaneous tasksPerform other duties as requiredWhat You'll Bring5-10 years of construction site experience design and/or construction company experienceHigh school diplomaMinimum Level 2 Occupational First Aid, but Level 3 Occupational First Aid preferredMember of NCSO and BCRSPDemonstrated working knowledge of provincial safety codes/regulationsPossesses robust organizational, time management and prioritization skillsExcellent capability within Outlook,
