Our General Production Operators work across multiple departments, learning to prep materials, operate machines, and assemble components that build high-quality transformer products. In this role, you will use coil-winding machines to wind coils used in distribution transformers. Coils are wound by reviewing wiring diagrams and work orders to select the specified wire type by length and circumference.We're looking for team players who value safety, consistency, and learning new things. If you're always raising your hand to help or improve something, you'll thrive here.Responsibilities:Select coil-forming device for specified coil and fasten device onto machine mandrelFeeds strip through the machine and weld start leads onto the strip. Wind strip to specific turn and weld finish leadsFeeds wire from reel through tension device, guides, and spreader,



bends wire ends to form lead and attaches lead to coil coreTurns setscrews to adjust tension on wire and sets the counter to zeroStarts machine and manually feeds wire over coil core to obtain an even and uniform winding and shape of coilObserves counter and stops machine at a specified number of turnsWraps insulation between layers and around wound coil or inserts, cooling ductsCuts wire to form leads, using wire or bolt cuttersPounds coil with hammer or mallet to shape end windings or remove coil from fixturesWinds paper around the coilStrips insulation from end of lead wires, threads lead wires through insulating sleeves or slideSleeves over leads, and solders lead wires windingStop machines to remove completed coils using hand toolsOther duties assigned by Value Stream SupervisorRequirementsPrevious experience in a manufacturing or assembly role is preferredAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityBasic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand toolsAbility to work in a fast-paced workplace and adapt to changing prioritiesGood communication skills and teamwork capabilitiesWillingness to comply with safety regulations and practicesQualifications:High Attention to Detail - verify accuracy of relevant information located on the sticker on the coil.
