We're recruiting a Cybersecurity Analyst to join the Computer, Networks and Infrastructure team of an established Western Canadian insurance organization.Reporting to the CNI Manager, this role will play an key part in the design, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the organization's cybersecurity defenses. If you're continually learning, keeping current with emerging technologies and security practices, and looking for ways to translate that knowledge into business value, this could be a strong next step in your career.What You'll DoIn this role, you will:Lead the development of the organization's Cybersecurity Incident Response PlanAct as the primary escalation point for cybersecurity incident responseMonitor Help Desk tickets and respond to cybersecurity-related issuesBe available for high‐severity incidents on a 24/7 basis when requiredManage and administer intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewalls, network devices, and other security systemsMaintain and monitor security sensors and data sources to ensure security events are logged, monitored, correlated, and appropriately escalatedPerform vulnerability testing, risk analysis, and security assessmentsPartner with business teams, software development,



and infrastructure teams to research best practices and implement appropriate security solutionsHelp maintain compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirementsInvestigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidentsRemediate identified vulnerabilities and help maintain a strong security postureDevelop and lead company‐wide IT security best practicesCreate and lead cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives for employeesResearch and provide guidance on cybersecurity policies, standards, best practices, and strategiesAssess vendors for compliance with organizational data‐protection policies and practicesResearch security enhancements and make recommendations to managementStay current on information technology trends and security standardsPrepare regular reporting related to the organization's overall security postureBuild effective working relationships with software development teams, internal stakeholders, and end usersMentor and support the development of other team membersWhat You'll BringThe ideal candidate will bring:5–7 years of cybersecurity experience2+ years of experience securing and monitoring Azure and Microsoft 365 environmentsExperience with application and infrastructure penetration‐testing toolsStrong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including operating systems, networks, and protocolsStrong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutionsThe ability to prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing prioritiesThe ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high‐pressure environmentExperience providing mentoring and training to team members
