The OpportunityAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client, an established and growing main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across London and the South East.The role will be based from the Waterloo office, alongside regular travel to project sites, and will see you taking commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account.Our client delivers projects across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and specialist cladding remediation, working on both new build and refurbishment schemes.This is an excellent chance for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a senior position, or an established Senior QS looking to join a growing contractor where they can have a genuine influence on the commercial delivery of projects.The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of projects, working closely with the Commercial Director, project teams, clients and supply chain.Responsibilities will include:Full commercial management of construction projects from procurement through to final accountPreparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reportsProcurement and commercial management of subcontractor packagesPreparing tender documentation and analysing subcontractor quotationsManaging subcontractor valuations,



payments and final accountsPreparing and submitting client applications for paymentIdentifying, pricing and managing variations and changeMonitoring project costs, cash flow and commercial performanceProducing accurate CVRs and monthly commercial reportsManaging contractual correspondence and commercial riskWorking closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure projects are delivered within budgetBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractorsSupporting junior members of the commercial team where requiredEnsuring projects are commercially closed out effectively and final accounts are agreedThe CandidateThe successful candidate will ideally have:Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractorStrong knowledge of both pre- and post-contract commercial managementExperience managing projects independently from procurement through to final accountGood working knowledge of JCT contractsStrong subcontractor procurement and management experienceExperience producing cost reports, forecasts and CVRsExcellent negotiation and commercial awarenessStrong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and project teamsA degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related discipline is advantageousExperience across refurbishment, new build, commercial, residential, education or cladding projects would be beneficial
