This role proactively trains, implements, and enforces the fundamentals of GMP and Audit Programs, and collaborates cross‐functionally to ensure the accuracy of food safety programs and promote a culture of quality throughout the facility. The position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.Please note this facility operates as both an abattoir and a processing facility.Responsibilities:Food Safety & QualityCoordinate and participate in the development of HACCP Plans and Preventive Control Programs; lead program implementationUpdate and maintain HACCP and Preventive Control Programs and all related policies and proceduresEstablish management and control systems to maintain compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements (Safe Food for Canadians Act, CFIA)Support annual assessment and reassessment of Preventive Control and HACCP ProgramsConduct risk assessments of vendors and HACCP system programsUpdate SOPs and forms as required following HACCP reassessment or program changesConduct internal audits and support external audits and inspections including BRC, customer audits, and CFIAVerify HACCP and Preventive Control Program documents and procedures, including onsite verificationsIdentify and resolve HACCP and Preventive Control non‐conformances in a timely mannerProvide recommendations for quality program improvement, corrective actions, and preventive measuresSupport investigation and resolution of customer complaintsSupport facility in conducting traceability exercisesOrganize and deliver training in HACCP, GMP, food safety, and quality policies and proceduresMaintain working knowledge of SOPs and CFIA regulationsCollaborate with Maintenance and other departments; provide QA department backup as directed by the QA ManagerOther duties as assignedLeadershipModel the DFF values of People, Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Customer Focus in all interactionsAdhere to and promote company policies and procedures at all timesHealth & SafetyMaintain a safe working setting for all employees and visitorsWork toward achieving zero lost‐time and medical incidentsAdhere to all site OH&S rules, regulations, and legislative requirementsQualifications:Certifications: HACCP certification required; GFSI certification preferredEducation:



Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related fieldExperience:1–3 years for Coordinator/Specialist roles OR 5 years as a QA technician in a meat processing industry.Strong understanding of food safety regulations and audit processesFamiliarity with BRC Global Standards, CFIA regulations, and the Safe Food for Canadian Act.Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to write clear policies and proceduresProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detailEffective collaborator who can also work independently with minimal supervisionStrong time management and organizational skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in both refrigerated and warm production environmentsProlonged periods of sitting and standingPrimarily Monday to Friday schedule with occasional weekend requirements as operations demandDonald's Fine Foods offers a competitive compensation package including excellent employee benefits program and RRSP after one year continuous employment.We are an equal opportunity employer and we thank all applicants in advance for their interest.
