OverviewReporting to the Division Controller for Doman Timber, the Intermediate Accountant is responsible for the regular monthly accounting, payroll entries, financial analyses, and forecasts for the Timber Division, including liaising with the operations and corporate accounting on a variety of financial and accounting matters. As part of the Doman Timber finance team, the Intermediate Accountant also provides backup to the Division Controller.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules, including monthly amortizationsRecord journal entries for property tax expenses, claim settlements, FX gain/loss estimations, and deferred revenue recognitionManage all accounting for prepaids, inventory, and payroll within the divisionPerform bank-related functions including transfers (CAD/USD), charges, and reconciliationsSupport intercompany and external sales processes, including invoicing and revenue recognitionPrepare accruals for professional fees, utilities, supplies, and other operating expensesReconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and quarterlyPrepare elimination entries for consolidated reportingConduct sales and margin analysis as requiredAssist with GST/PST returns, cash forecasting, and BBC reportingProvide documentation and support for internal and external auditsComplete external reporting requirements (e.G., lenders, Statistics Canada)Contribute to monthly and annual financial reporting, including variance analysis across multiple legal entitiesCollaborate with corporate accounting and internal audit teams as neededParticipate in other accounting activities and projects as assignedQualificationsMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting experienceAdvanced Excel skills (e.G., VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, PivotTables)Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred)Familiarity with multi-entity, intercompany,

The base pay offered is based on geographical location and may vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Similar positions located in other geographical locations may not necessarily receive the same salary range.
