DescriptionWe are looking for a compassionate and team-orientated Advocate to join our Legal Advocacy team, providing legal advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning and information/referrals to victims of relationship violence and sexual assault. The ideal candidate would have excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills and a drive to help others.Reports toAssistant Director of Advocacy ServicesSupervisesAssigned Interns and VolunteersPrimary FunctionsAssess client needs and connect each client to resources and agency programsPrepare and maintain a service plan with each clientProvide legal advocacy and accompanimentCollaborate and act as a liaison with various other organizations and agencies (CPS, Law Enforcement, DA, etc.)



to meet the needs of clientsAssist clients in filing emergency and final protective orders and restraining ordersCollaborate with local attorneys to provide pro bono legal representationAssist clients with crime victims' compensation claimsMaintain client files and records with confidentiality with accurate and complete documentationCollect and report statistical data reflecting the services provided in a timely mannerParticipate in DCFOF staff and education meetings as requested.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by staff assigned to this position.
