Position OverviewThis position is responsible for geotechnical aspects of pit wall and waste rock dump to ensure all geotechnical hazards are manageable for safe and efficient mining operations.Detailed Job DescriptionPosition Overview: This position is responsible for geotechnical aspects of pit wall and waste rock dump to ensure all geotechnical hazards are manageable for safe and efficient mining operations.AccountabilityReporting to the Superintendent, Geotechnical Engineering and Geology, is responsible for coordinating and/or executing:Regular field geotechnical inspection.Slope monitoring strategy, installation and interpretation.Geotechnical analysis and reporting: rock mass characterization & slope stability analysis.External reporting: monthly and quarterly geotechnical inspection report for regulatory purposes.Geotechnical drilling campaign.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Geological or Mining Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institutionMaster's degree in Geological/Geotechnical Engineering preferredExperience in geotechnical open pit mining operations is a strong asset.Experience with slope monitoring system:
