General InformationCasual, on-call Food & Beverage II opportunities are available at the Kerry Park Recreation Centre within the South Cowichan Recreation Division of the Community Services Department at the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Coordinator, the Food & Beverage II provides pleasant, professional customer service to patrons and performs cooking and/or bartending, cashiering, dishwashing and bussing for the Social Lounge, concessions and event catering operations of the Food & Beverage Section.QualificationsSecondary school graduation or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Mixology experience as well as short-order and banquet cooking experience.Line Cooking experience would be an asset.Food Protected Level I CertificateServing It Right CertificateBasic First Aid CertificateValid Class 5 BC Driver's License -- employer provided vehicleView the full job description listing all the job requirementsHours of WorkAs this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work.



Casual hours of work are scheduled based on operational need and successful candidates will be required to work a flexible variety of shifts including days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work weekdays (Monday-Friday).SalaryThis non-union casual opportunity has a wage range in three steps, $21.03 - $22.24 per hour (2025 rates), as per the Non-Union Wage Scale.NoteTesting may be required during the interview process. Testing is based on the knowledge, skills, abilities and qualifications outlined in the job description.
