As a team we collaborate to solve problems, contribute ideas and challenge each other to ensure growth and ultimately success for the business and our employees.Job Description and ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks: cleaning around the mill, assisting with general maintenance in the yard, sorting, stacking, and moving materials throughout the area. Additionally, the role involves preparing materials for loading and unloading, performing general cleanup of the yard, and cutting larger pieces of scrap steel using a cutting torch. This position is located at the Prairie Recycling facility in Camrose.Responsible for handling metal/scrap throughout the yard, organizing and sorting various metals in the yard, and non-ferrous metalsAdhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Secure Work Procedures (SWPs), and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Observe and follow all safety regulationsWear PPE required at all times when in the yardCut scrap steel to the specified sizes assigned by quality control using a cutting torch, and various lifting and physical labor are involvedKeep equipment serviced by conducting routine maintenance and completing minor repairsLoad and unload materials, and inspect and grade non-ferrous material, as well as material sortingGeneral help in the mechanics shop and/or truck shop as neededPerform other duties as they might be assignedAbility to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekendsRequirementsMinimum education level – completion of High School or GED equivalentNo experience necessary, but previous work experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar scrapyard environment will be considered an assetAble to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling,
