Category JobsDecember 22, 2022Job OpportunitiesJob DescriptionJob Title: Industrial Shop PainterLocation: Recent WestminsterStatus: Full TimeAarc-West Industrial Coatings Inc., one of the leading industrial paint shops in BC, is looking for experienced, industrial painters for their New Westminster painting facility located just north of Annacis Island.We offer competitive wages, including benefits upon successful completion of the probation period, and in-house training for employment required certifications.We offer competitive wages including company paid medical, dental and extended health benefits as well as a company paid RRSP contribution plan for team members.Duties Will Include:Material handling of incoming parts and material.Prepping parts for painting.Apply various types of industrial coatings through manual spraying on to structural steel tanks and piping including setting up paints, adjusting paint guns.Maintaining technical equipment and ensuring that they are in working order.General labour activities as required such as, but not limited to,



hauling of material, tools, equipment, etc.)Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Aarc-West's safe work practices, policies, and procedures.Ability to identify hazards and safely dispose of chemical waste and maintain a clean safe work environment.Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision.Assist with other duties as required.RequirementsMUST BE RELIABLE.Have a minimum of 2 years experience painting in an industrial paint shop.Ability to mentor apprentices in a positive manner, knowledge of, and skilled in, the standard practices, methods, materials, and tools of the industrial paint trade.Ability to drive telescopic forklifts and run overhead cranes.Must have basic weldment understanding and be able to visually inspect welds for defects prior to painting.Must be able to work overtime or afternoon shifts as needed.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
