Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly and is looking for a Data Center Manager to join its expanding Infrastructure Operations team in Montreal, QC. This position helps ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data centre operations in a 24/7 environment.This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada. Bilingualism in French and English is required for this position.Key ResponsibilitiesPrioritize and assign trouble tickets to data centre technicians and operatorsManage the performance of a diverse team of data centre operations professionals with varying skills across multiple locationsDevelop and maintain career paths for employees and update records in internal toolsRecruit and train data centre technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all timesEnsure effective and productive management of day-to-day data centre operations including queue management, 24/7 shift scheduling, and hardware logisticsDevelop or apply subject matter expertise across all aspects of data centre operationsEnsure all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured, tracked, and consistently metInspire and guide continuous improvement in team processes, technology innovation,



and automationManage large-scale events including outages and serve as the primary call leader during escalationsManage and improve workflows and throughput across data centre operationsRecommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and required SLAsMaintain the on-call schedule while coordinating team absences and vacation coverageCollaborate with cross-functional partners including engineering, capacity planning, and facilities teams to support operational goalsBasic RequirementsMore than 2 years of experience as an IT operations manager within a technology teamExperience and in-depth knowledge of Linux system administrationNetworking experience and knowledge of cabling best practicesIn-depth experience with computing architectures and troubleshooting expertiseIn-depth knowledge of data centre infrastructureBilingualism in French and English, including the ability to read and write complex technical instructions in EnglishMore than 2 years of IT operations management experience; in-depth Linux system administration knowledge; networking experience; strong understanding of computing architectures and data centre infrastructure; bilingualism in French and English; ability to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.
