and treatmentsObtaining patient histories and preparing patients for visitsPerforming routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the labFollowing up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patientsMaintaining patient education materialsCreating and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)Maintaining medical equipment and clinical suppliesEnsuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulationsPerforming other duties as assigned━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━QualificationsEducationRequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED)PreferredCompletion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical trainingExperiencePreferredMedical Assistant experienceLicensure / CertificationRequiredApproved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician)ParamedicLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Additional PreferenceIf you have completed a Medical Assistant externship, be sure to include the location and dates on your application and resume.
