Manager, Property Accounting reports to the Controller to provide reliable and timely financial reports for properties managed by Crown on an efficient basis and provide efficient support to property managers and administrators. This position oversees and manages the property accounting team.ResponsibilitiesProvide Superior Returns to our Investors through Accurate and Reliable Financial InformationEnsure monthly financial reports are delivered accurately and timelyEnsure all accounting records are kept up to date within guidelinesAssist with auditors requirementsReview of annual budgets and assist Property Managers in completion of annual budgetsAssist in the accounting of property acquisitions and dispositions, due diligence and preparation of statement of adjustment and post closing adjustments, as requiredContinually monitor and review accounting processes and procedures and recommend changes as appropriate to ensure internal controls and/or efficiencies are improved to meet industry best practicesResponsible for CAM & Tax recoveries including year-end billingAssist in capital costs trackingResponsible for review of working papersAssist with Yardi upgrades and implementations of new accounting software/modulesSupport the property administration staff in the financial management of their propertiesDeveloping and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for accounting functionsDeliver Excellent Service to Tenants and VendorsEfficient and effective communication, in a professional manner, with all employees and clientsHire, Train and Motivate Employees and Provide Rewarding CareersSupervise Property Accountants in full cycle accounting on an on-going basisTrain and mentor accounting staff in all aspects of property accountingHandle all aspects of training, development, and continuous improvement of staff, processes, and proceduresPerform ongoing performance management for subordinates and seeks opportunities for their development and advancementMotivate staff and promotes a positive work atmosphereFoster a respectful and positive work environment for all employeesProvide clear direction and expectations while supporting and encouraging the teamAdhere and promote Crown policies to team membersPerforms other related responsibilities as requested from time to time.Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, or related field; and Professional accounting designation (CPA)Must maintain Canadian CPA designation in good standing5-10 years accounting experience within a commercial real estate companyExperience supervising junior or senior level accountantsExperience with Yardi requiredExcellent knowledge of accounting practices applicable to real estate, property management, budgeting, tenant chargebacks, financial and management reportingAdvance excel skills and working knowledge of real estate and property management financial accounting systems and softwareStrong written and verbal communication skills, with a polished and professional approach to internal and external stakeholders.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities, interruptions, and deadlines without losing accuracy.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams; What We're Looking ForSupports teamwork environment with positive and professional attitudeWillingness and flexibility to work outside of regular hours when requiredOpen to learning, developing new skills/knowledgeFocuses on results, anticipates problems, identifies solutions, takes actionUnderstands all aspects of job - impact on business goalsProactively assesses, responds to workflow deficiency, and adheres to Crown policiesGoes the "extra mile" to understand and respond to tenant/customer needsFlexibility to changing work conditions including interruptions and multi-tasking abilityBehaves and makes decisions that support Crown goals/objectivesConducts business consistent with sustainabilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsUnderstand basic financial management; specifically proceduresfor expenses/revenuesAbility to work independently and under pressure, deal with deadlinesDemonstrates integrity in decision making, listening, treatment of othersMentors and develops othersWhy Join Crown?Base salary: $110,000 - $ 130,000 CAD per year, based on experience and qualificationsEligibility for discretionary annual performance bonus linked to individual, team,
