Position DescriptionSurgical Technologist First Assistant. Responsible for assisting the surgeon during surgery and plays a vital role in the operating room during surgeries. Communicates the surgeon's preferences and specific patient needs to the surgical team. Assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients for surgical procedures. Provides retraction of tissues and organs for optimal visualization with regard to the surgical site. Assists with selecting equipment, holding incisions open, controlling bleeding, closing incisions and performing other technical duties.Position DetailsLocation: St Josephs Main and ChildrensStatus: Full Time, Exempt: NoShift Hours: 6:30am - 7:00pmWeekend Work: OccasionalOn Call: YesRequirementsRequired Experience: At least 3 years' experience as a Surgical Tech and 1-year Surgical First Assistant experience.Required Education: High School or Equivalent and Surgical Technology First Assist CertificateRequired License/Certification: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
