This role will operate on a hybrid basis of in-office/on-site and work from home.This role is responsible for leading the design and delivery of mechanical building systems while managing assigned projects from concept through completion. This position plays a key role in coordinating with clients and project stakeholders, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables, and mentoring junior designers to support successful project outcomes.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Leading the design and delivery of mechanical building systems for commercial, multi-residential, and institutional projectsManaging project assignments including scope, schedules, milestones,



and client coordinationPreparing and reviewing conceptual and detailed mechanical system designsPerforming site investigations, field reviews, and attending project meetings with clients and contractorsDeveloping and reviewing AutoCAD drawings and BIM models using RevitDesigning and reviewing HVAC systems including load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layoutsDesigning and reviewing plumbing, drainage, fuel/gas, and fire protection systemsPreparing energy models and conducting system performance analyses for building projectsPreparing technical specifications, engineering reports, feasibility studies, and lifecycle analysesCoordinating with clients, contractors, consultants, and local utilities throughout project executionReviewing designs for compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and quality requirementsMentoring junior designers, assigning tasks, and providing technical guidanceMore About YouTo qualify, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a P.Eng. designation with Qualified Engineers Ontario (PEO). A minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering within a consulting environment, specifically focused on building systems, will also be essential.
