B&W Canada is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Field Service Engineer in the province of Alberta.Job Description SummaryA Field Service Engineer works independently or with more experienced engineers in performing inspections, tuning, operational audits, pre-commissioning testing on boilers and environmental equipment, and writes estimates and proposals. This position requires extensive travel (70%) including driving on client/customer property. Field Service is a fast paced job providing great job variety. Entry engineers will work closely with senior engineers and the District Engineer. Service work provides a challenging and rewarding job and steep learning curve in which the engineer develops practical knowledge of power plants and all aspects of B&W products. Ample opportunity to take industry leading training sessions from B&W's subject matter experts.Specific DutiesCollecting and evaluating field data.Working with customers, account executives,



vendors and sublet vendors with assistance and guidance from District Engineer or senior engineer.Preparing technical reports including service and special reports.Working as part of commissioning teams on project startupsPerforming site activities including: boiler inspections, condition assessments and boiler operation evaluationsProviding construction technical support and outage managementWorks on estimates and proposals for equipment upgradesSupport the operation and maintenance of B&W equipmentConstruction support and troubleshooting of equipmentCollecting and evaluating field dataProvide cost effective solutionsBuild strong customer relationshipsManage customer service contracts and provide outage supportThis position will service Alberta and other provinces as needed. The incumbent will work from the Edmonton Alberta office and possibly at home during certain times. This position requires extensive travel (70%) including driving on client/customer property and may be required with short notice.Education And/or Relevant ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred) or 5-7 years of relevant experience in lieu. 3+ years of field experience with industrial boilers or an equivalent environment.
