As a Field Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Mining Equipment.Your work will include:Troubleshoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environmentRespond to customer needs in a positive, supportive,



and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair requiredCompleting required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communicationSpecific Skills & ExperienceInterprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment CertificationClean Drivers' Abstract (5 yr)3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, with demonstrated time in the fieldStrong skills in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systemsEngine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficialTransmission or Hydraulic testing experiencePrevious gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an assetImportant Details7 x 7 Continuous Shift based in Elkford, BC$300/month LOA (Commuters/non-residents (80+ km away) who provide own housing)A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicableUnion MembershipThis is a unionized position.
