About the OrganizationFirst Nations Technical Services Advisory Group Inc. (TSAG) is a not-for-profit provider of quality technical service and training for First Nations in Alberta. TSAG's purpose is to assist First Nations in gaining the tools and knowledge they need to achieve and maintain high standards in technology and services within the community. This is a full-time position including weekends and will be located in Edmonton, Alberta.Role and ResponsibilitiesOurMedical Office Assistantsare an important part of our team who provide outstanding administrative support to patients, co-workers and stakeholders, in keeping with our commitment to patient centered care. They ensure the efficient, professional and organized operation of the clinic office. A patient champion, supporter, fact finder with a relentless drive to achieve success in administrative excellence.What you would do:Ensure optimal patient care through friendly, enthusiastic and professional service with all patients and team membersAnswer telephone calls and emails and provide excellent customer service for all questions or concerns.Coordinate a detailed and accurate intake of information on the patient's first visit to the clinicCoordinate virtual appointmentsProvide support to physicians in using the EMRBecome a trainer and Super user of the EMR applicationUse electronic medical record files and coordinate the scheduling of future appointments for patients with all providers as directedProduce accurate end of day reports, weekly and monthly statistic reportsOther administrative tasks as assigned by the Clinic Team ManagerRecord and prepare minutes of meetings,
seminars and conferencesSet up and maintain computerized information filing systemsCreate physician schedule and adjust schedule as requiredComplete accurate clinic billingResponsible for Booking, scheduling and reportingResponsible for submitting and reconciling shadow billings through the EMRWhat you need:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients and staff membersAbility to exercise good judgement, resourceful, solid organizational skillsAbility to investigate, understand and resolve issuesRemain "cool, calm and collected" in high pressure situationsAble to adapt to change with clinic operations to continuously learn and strive for improved Patient careSelf-starter with an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentExperience with Shadow Billing and WCB BillingExperience with referralsExcellence and comfort with technologyResponsibilitiesCommunication with patients including by phone, and by email and other virtual applications like ZoomCustomer service activities including appointment bookings, prescription printouts, troubleshooting technologyOffice administrative tasks including processing mail, filing,
