Under the general direction of the Operations Leader, the Production Operator will perform all tasks related to the manufacturing and quality process. Production Operators are required to maintain Safety and Quality Assurance Standards at all times while working productively. Position will assist in process and procedure improvement activities.Position Qualifications:Education & KnowledgeHigh School diploma or equivalent is preferredManufacturing environment experience considered assetsKnowledge of Lean principals, raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsSkillsStrong knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations requiredAble to follow instructionsAble to read a measuring tapeAble to read blueprints and parts listsExcellent judgment and decision-making abilitiesExperienceA minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing plant is preferredExperience in quality process and control will be an assetCommunicationGood Interpersonal communication skillsResponsibilities:Daily set up and tool inspectionsStart up and change over set up testingQuality testing and inspections, daily and in-processPerform tasks including the use of the measuring tape, cutting, sewing and handling of materials.Lifting and handling of material.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with little directionAbility to produce quality products consistentlyWillingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilitiesFollow all safety procedures and watch for the well-being of fellow workersOperate all equipment in a safe and proper manner to prevent injury or equipment damageMaintain a safe and clean work environment at all timesAttend and participate in regular production meetingsListen attentively and use speaking skills to ask questions when expectations are not understoodStay informed of matters pertaining to their job, and develop personnel growth opportunitiesMaintain work performance relative to expectationsEnsure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when requiredWork in a fast-paced environment with fast changing prioritiesMaintain a positive work atmosphereAssist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an effective and effective work environmentPosition report to and works closely with the Production Leader
