Due to the nature of emergency response work, candidates must be flexible and available to respond to incidents outside of regular business hours when required.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide emergency spill response, including coordination of contractors, containment, recovery, and site assessmentConduct soil and water sampling, data collection, and field documentationPrepare daily reports and contribute to technical reportingCommunicate field observations and project updates to supervisors and team membersMaintain accurate project documentation and file managementSupport project objectives, including technical and financial goalsEnsure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulationsQualificationsDegree or diploma in Environmental Science or a related disciplineValid Class 5 Driver's LicenseExperience working in a safety-focused environmentProfessional designation (or eligibility) such as Biologist,



Agrologist, Forester, Geoscientist, Chemist, Engineer, or Technologist is an assetRelevant safety certifications (e.G., H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level II, First Aid, CSTS, CSO, Bear Awareness) are considered an assetAdditional training in Incident Command System (ICS), spill response, emergency management, or related areas is an assetPreferred CertificationsThe following certifications are considered assets:H2S AliveGround Disturbance Level IIStandard First Aid/CPRCSTSCSOBear AwarenessIncident Command System (ICS)Spill Response or Emergency Management TrainingSkills and CompetenciesStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to work independently and within a team environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsComfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and remote locationsKnowledge of environmental regulations and industry best practicesExperience interpreting environmental data is considered an assetProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsCompensationThis position is paid on an hourly basis and includes opportunities for overtime.
