This role focuses on ensuring food safety and service standards, presentation, and quality are met. The Cook works under the supervision of the Sous Chef and Resort Chefs, or designates, and closely with all culinary and warehousing departments at Sunshine.Essential FunctionsPrepare and cook a wide variety of foods, including:Prepare and cook individual dishes and foodsOversee kitchen operations set up, cleaning, and organization of work areasEnsuring that all food service standards, health and safety regulations, and quality controls are followed consistently and thoroughlyMust be hands-on in food preparation and serving, when neededAdditional duties to be tasked at a supervisor's discretion.Administrative and Reporting ResponsibilitiesAssisting with the training of kitchen staff, including completing documentationTimely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting.May assist with menu planning, food portions, estimates of requirements and costs.Assisting with monitoring and ordering supplies.Experience/RequirementsExperience: 1 year experience in a high-volume food service format.All food handling / food safety permits are required.Robust communication & organization skillsOutgoing, positive,



friendly attitude.Calm under pressure and patient, able to exercise good decision making.Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.Prepared to work flexible schedules (weekends, holidays)Maintain professional conduct when in uniform, on or off-duty, and online.Effectively provide support, and assistance to coworkers.Attend and actively participate in meetings and training.Must be neat, punctual, and dependable.Additional ConsiderationsEmployees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.This position works at high altitude and at times, in inclement weather.
