The Patient Support Assistant position requires professionalism, critical thinking, and sensitivity.Education:Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required ExperienceMinimum 1 year experience in customer service, forward facing and interactions with the public is an assetEmergency Department experience an assetNon Violent Crisis Prevention (CPI) trainingan assetSelf-starter with a positive nature, pleasant disposition, a can-do attitude and be a strong team playerDemonstrated excellence in interpersonal and customer service skillsEffective problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to prioritize workload with varying deliverablesAbility to work both within a team and independently with minimal supervisionMust maintain confidentiality pertaining to patients and staffAbility to work flexible hours including weekends, afternoons, evening and midnight shiftsAdherence to policy and procedures related to health and safety and patient safetyAbility to push and pull wheeled equipment and moveable cartsResponsibilities include but not limited to the following:Provide a high degree of service to the patients, visitors, staff, and physiciansPerform AIDET when interacting with patients, visitors, families (A-Acknowledge, I-Introduce, D-Duration, E-Explanation,
