We are seeking two (2) experienced Senior Software Engineers (Back End - Java) to lead the integration of Shopify's Point of Sale (POS) system into our existing technology ecosystem. This is part of an exciting project to expand into new brick-and-mortar locations and implement modern POS solutions.Details:Start Date: ImmediateTarget Completion Date: December 31, 2025Work Setting: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote per weekResponsibilitiesTranslate business requirements into technical solutionsCollaborate with SMEs on existing systems and Shopify POSReview documentation and understand system architectureDesign and implement solutions,



including updates to Shopify POS and internal systemsEnsure testing, documentation, and stakeholder acceptanceContribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as codeParticipate in Agile processes and report progressQualificationsExperience working with Java (Spring, Play), MySQL RDS, DynamoDBFamiliarity with AWS and building integrationsAbility to work independently and with stakeholdersLegally authorized to work in CanadaBackground check clearanceAssetsExperience with Kafka, POS, Shopify eCommerceAdditional InformationThis is a contractor position based in Vancouver, Lower Mainland.
