Kettle Coordinator II position is a short-term contract position. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls, grocery stores and retail outlets.AccountabilitiesAttend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle CampaignProvide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onsetEnsure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completionCommunicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant CoordinatorOrient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as requiredSupervise, support and assign (as required) Kettle Volunteers throughout the CampaignParticipate in the recruitment of new volunteersVisit locations during shift changes and intermittentlyCommunicate daily with ATL partner for effective transitionEnsure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis)Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved),



ensuring security of donations received.Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.Critical Relationship ManagementGovernance Boards and Councils: n/aInternal: TSA staff members, Kettle campaign teamExternal: Community membersManagerial/Technical ResponsibilitiesReports directly to the Corps Officer. Workflow coordinator.Financial and Material ManagementCollect donations and petite cash and ensure donations are always kept secure.The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army's Mission Statement, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.Working ConditionsThis is a temporary position.Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a 1⁄2 hour unpaid meal break.Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements.Work environment is typically in malls/storesStanding for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weatherRequired to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification.Local travel is associated with this position, using a program vehicle may be necessary. Must be comfortable driving at night and in winter conditions.Education, Experience and QualificationsWillingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures.Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.
