We are actively seeking candidates to fill a current, open position.The Investment Analyst - Fixed Income and Alternative Assets provides assistance to the Fixed Income Team in the active management of fixed income portfolios across various institutional and retail mandates. The Fixed Income Team invests in a variety of asset classes including public bonds, private debt placements, commercial mortgages, preferred shares, money market instruments and external alternative funds. preferred shares and money market instruments as well as external alternative fundsMonitor individual holdings' compliance with loan covenants as well as their internal credit ratings through periodic reviews of Issuer financial performance and covenant complianceAssist in the construction and maintenance of screens using software such as Bloomberg to filter database of companies to identify potential investment ideasOrganize all available information and data effectively in order to build and maintain spreadsheet models for both valuation and monitoring purposesMaintain statistics on the portfolio regarding exposures, company information and valuation parametersAssist in the preparation of reports on portfolio investment performanceActively participate in and contribute to Investment team strategic meetingsOther ad hoc duties as may ariseWhat we're looking for you to have1-3 years of experience in the analysis of fixed income instruments such as public bonds, private debt placements, and commercial mortgages as well as alternative funds, gained in commercial, corporate, or investment banking, a life insurance company, debt capital markets dealers, or an investment managerStrong knowledge of credit principles and capital markets coupled with strong intellectual curiosityAbility to present complex concepts in a clear and precise mannerCompletion of a university degree with courses in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, quantitative methodsCFA or working toward designationWell-developed mathematical skillsHigh proficiency in Excel including VBA, Word and PowerPoint,
