You will move stock and inventory to fulfill orders and ensure that material is organized for the day shift shipping department. In this role you will prepare items for shipping and/or storage and will conduct visual inspections to ensure that imperfections are flagged and addressed with the shift supervisor.The TeamThe role will report to the Production Manager.ResponsibilitiesOperate forklift for several hours each dayRead and interpret work orders, Kanban cards, and job ordersDetermine location and amount of material required and deliver it to the appropriate location in a timely mannerTransport raw materials, finished metal products, and partially finished product to various locations in the plantLoad and unload forklift, hand cart, dolly or other vehicles with proper materialFollow all SOP's and SWI's required for the departments.Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.E. continual improvementsUse of heavy equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts to load trucks and move equipment to and from shipping area,



paint area and yard storageEnsure material is placed on appropriate pallets/crates and secured for shipmentRead, understand, and follow work instructions and work with the Shift Supervisors and other team members to resolve concernsMaintain material-handling equipment by completing equipment inspections and identifying needed repairs with the Shift SupervisorsWork with the Shift Supervisors to ensure warehouse and yard space is utilized to the best of its abilityUse of hand tools including, but not limited to saws, strapping tools and other sorted hand tools to accomplish tasksVisual inspections and report of any visible imperfections (bolts, touch ups, irregularities etc.)Label and tag equipment as directedAbility to follow and meet instructionsMaintain and clean shipping area as well the yard storage locationsContinue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvementOther duties as assigned (yard arrangements, paint touch ups,
